Node Ecosystem

Join the Distrix Contributor Node Ecosystem — stake, contribute, and power the network. Run a node to help validate transactions, route storage, and support decentralized computing.

What Are Contributor Nodes?

Contributor Nodes are a vital component of the Distrix network, serving as the backbone of the ecosystem by providing essential services that maintain the network's security, performance, and functionality.

Distrix Contributor Node

Unlike traditional blockchain networks that rely solely on miners, Distrix implements a hybrid approach where Contributor Nodes work alongside miners to create a more robust and versatile network infrastructure. By staking DSTX tokens and running specialized software, node operators contribute to transaction validation, storage routing, and decentralized computing support.

This multi-faceted role makes Contributor Nodes essential for Distrix's high performance and unique capabilities, while also providing node operators with multiple revenue streams through the network's reward system.

Why Contributor Nodes Are Important

Transaction Validation

Contributor Nodes verify and validate transactions before they're added to the blockchain, ensuring the network's integrity and preventing double-spending or other malicious activities.

Storage Routing

Nodes manage and route distributed storage across the network, ensuring data is properly stored, accessible, and retrievable when needed by applications or users.

Compute Support

Contributor Nodes help coordinate and manage the decentralized computing layer, matching computing tasks with appropriate Provider Nodes and verifying task completion.

Network Relay

Nodes relay transactions, blocks, and other network messages, maintaining connectivity and ensuring the network remains fast and responsive even under heavy load.

Ecosystem Impact

The Distrix network thrives on Contributor Node participation. With each node added, the network becomes more decentralized, secure, and resilient. This creates a self-reinforcing ecosystem where both the network and node operators benefit from increasing adoption and utility.

Contributor Node Economics

Staking-Based Rewards System

The Distrix Contributor Node reward system is designed to be fair, transparent, and rewards both participation and commitment:

Staking Pool Distribution

  • 10% Equal Share: Every active node (valid license + minimum 50 DSTX staked) gets an equal share of 10% of the daily staking pool.
  • 90% Proportional Share: The remaining 90% is distributed based on your stake as a percentage of the total staked by all active nodes.

Reward Distribution

Equal Share Formula (10%)

Your Equal Reward = (10% × Daily Staking Pool) / Number of Active Nodes

Proportional Share Formula (90%)

Your Proportional Reward = (Your Stake / Total Staked) × (90% × Daily Staking Pool)

Total Daily Reward

Your Total Daily Reward = Your Equal Reward + Your Proportional Reward

Example: Suppose the daily staking pool is 3,323 DSTX, there are 100 active nodes, and you have 1,000 DSTX staked out of 50,000 total:

  • Equal Share: 10% of 3,323 = 332.3 DSTX → 332.3 / 100 = 3.323 DSTX
  • Proportional Share: 90% of 3,323 = 2,990.7 DSTX → (1,000 / 50,000) × 2,990.7 = 59.814 DSTX
  • Total Daily Reward: 3.323 + 59.814 = 63.137 DSTX

All active nodes get the equal share, and the proportional share is based on stake. This ensures everyone gets something, but bigger stakers still earn more.

Staking Requirements

  • Minimum Stake: 50 DSTX tokens
  • Lock Period: None - you can unstake at any time, but unstaked amount will be available for claim after 30 days
  • Reward Frequency: Daily distributions

Return on Investment

Contributor Nodes generate returns through multiple mechanisms:

  1. Base Staking Rewards: Your share of the staking pool (see above for split)
  2. Performance Bonuses: Additional rewards based on uptime and other metrics
  3. Network Growth: Potential appreciation of staked DSTX tokens as the network grows

Example ROI Calculation

For a node with 1,000 DSTX staked (assuming 50,000 total DSTX staked and 100 active nodes):

Daily Reward Calculation
Daily Block Production = 6,646 blocks (13-second block time)
Daily Staking Rewards = 6,646 × 0.50 DSTX = 3,323 DSTX

Equal Share = (10% × 3,323) / 100 = 3.323 DSTX
Proportional Share = (1,000 / 50,000) × (90% × 3,323) = 59.814 DSTX

Your Daily Reward = 3.323 + 59.814 = 63.137 DSTX

Annual Base Reward = 63.137 × 365 = 23,038 DSTX per year

Note: This is a simplified example. Actual rewards will vary based on network conditions, total staked amount, and your node's performance.

Faster Break-Even

Distrix's reward structure allows for a three-year reward cycle vs industry standard four-year cycles, meaning you reach profitability sooner.

Early-Stage Growth

While other DePIN projects like Filecoin and Render have reached massive valuations, Distrix remains early-stage with high upside potential.

Token Buyback Program

A portion of node sale proceeds will be used to acquire DSTX from the market, potentially reducing supply and supporting token value.

Getting Started

Ready to become a Contributor Node operator? Here's how to get started:

1

Prepare Hardware

Set up a server or dedicated machine with these minimum requirements:

  • CPU: 4+ cores
  • RAM: 8GB+
  • Storage: 500GB SSD
  • Network: 100 Mbps+ connection
  • OS: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or later
2

Acquire DSTX
